You can download fully working trial versions of IGOR from this page. IGOR works on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, and on Mac OS X 10.5 and greater.
What do I get?
When you install IGOR you will find a folder containing the following:
- The IGOR Content Tool (which is what you use to add and amend your content)
- The IGOR program (which is what users see on-gallery)
- A digital manual to help you get started.
- A small number of folders and files containing the content for the trial version.
How do I get started?
Download and install one of the trial versions below and explore the demo exhibit by running the main IGOR program.
You can then build your own exhibit by launching the Content Tool and changing the demo exhibit, one page at a time. Change the fonts, colours, layout templates - and of course the content! - and your exhibit will soon take shape.
There are lots of video tutorials here to help you on your way.
Download a trial version of IGOR
The content in the trial version acts as a guided tour to IGOR, taking you through all the steps to build a digital exhibit:
Download the manual
Download the trial version for Windows computers
Download the trial version for Macintosh computers
In the trial version the Content Tool runs as per the full version - but the main IGOR program (the part your visitors will see) only runs for 10 minutes at a time. You can develop your exhibit using the trial version, then purchase an unlocked version from us when you are ready to deploy it.
Some help with installing IGOR
Once you have downloaded the installer, double-click to run it. We recommend you install IGOR onto your desktop (it doesn’t live in your Windows menu like other programs).
For Apple Macintosh
Once you have downloaded the disc image, double-click to ‘mount’ it and it will appear as a hard disc on your desktop. Open the disc then drag the Igor folder to your desktop to install.
(The Windows installer includes an additional zip file containing the Macintosh applications; the Macintosh installer includes a similar one for Windows.)
For Macintosh computers with OS X Mountain Lion or greater : you may need to change your application security default settings, in order to install and run IGOR. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy, select the tab 'General' then select 'Allow applications downloaded from anywhere'.
Getting started with IGOR
First, take a look at the Guided Tour to see what you can do with IGOR. You can then use that installation as the basis for your own - changing the content, fonts, buttons styles etc until you are happy with it.
Don't forget you can see some video walkthroughs and demonstrations right here.
